I enjoyed the story but it seemed severely chopped. Perhaps it was to make it fit into the 143 pages. I don't know if this was with the authors knowledge or permission or not. It seriously affected the story

The writing verges on sappy. Lacks historical authenticity at times. The attempt to create an empowered female character is disappointingly unsuccessful.

I truly got into the story and felt the tension some people go through doing good after a significant hurt
