The book is an informative and funny read - and recommended for people who are soon on their way to China (e.g. as a funny gift) or for people who have spent some while there and want to remember the differences in lifestyle. Since it lacks historical and long explanations about culture there might be even enough time to read it on the plane. Definitely recommended if you are not looking for a deep look into chinese culture but just for a quick, funny and still true preparation.

About the author

After coming to China for the first time, being a teacher at a university, the author always wanted to find a way to return to this chaos. When he got a chance to study Mandarin at a Chinese university he did not hesitate to quit his steady career and rushed back to the country he loves. He has no regrets about spending his life within the smog and can’t possibly imagine what it will be like to return to a country with less people – and less fun every day.
