Having read the original, I do like the new twists and details that have been added. However the new version can feel bloated and the pace too slow. The main problem is when we bounce around to different factions details are repeated. And this isn't just a sentence or two but pages of the same details that have already been conveyed to the reader. At times it can seem like a money grab by creating more volumes with no real added story.
