holy cow am I glad I finally pushed thru and read this novel big Stephen king fan but finding dean koontz has been a breath of fresh air Amazing book had it couple months I finally got around to reading it and two days later I'm sad it's over with
San Francisco
In classic Dean Knoontz manner, uses his uncanny ability to draw characters and their surroundings with amazing precision. He pulls us in so carefully that we find ourselves empathizing, sympathizing, cheering and crying simultaneously. Knootz can be surprisingly tender, a skill he draws on masterfully in this novel. He will keep you turning pages well into the night. Spoiler : Keep your eyes on the dog.

I read the early 2000 stuff he wrote (Velocity, The Husband, Life Expectancy, and others) and absolutely loved them. I swear I couldn't put them down. This one, however, took me like 4 years to read. I had to force myself to finish it. The beginning and end weren't horrible, but by the end I just...didn't...care. Every author has a dud and this is his.
