Chris Holmes
I read the early 2000 stuff he wrote (Velocity, The Husband, Life Expectancy, and others) and absolutely loved them. I swear I couldn't put them down. This one, however, took me like 4 years to read. I had to force myself to finish it. The beginning and end weren't horrible, but by the end I just...didn't...care. Every author has a dud and this is his.

In classic Dean Knoontz manner, uses his uncanny ability to draw characters and their surroundings with amazing precision. He pulls us in so carefully that we find ourselves empathizing, sympathizing, cheering and crying simultaneously. Knootz can be surprisingly tender, a skill he draws on masterfully in this novel. He will keep you turning pages well into the night. Spoiler : Keep your eyes on the dog.

This is by far one of the best novel's I've ever read. Not only did I feel
that Dean Koontz had written a fantastically told book. But, one in which
truly left me feeling enlightened. Thank you Dean Koontz for a novel I'll
forever remember and hold close to my heart!
