I bought this book to read while I was out of town for a week thinking it would last being its a pretty long book. I finished it the first 2 days. Honestly, when I picked it up I was already thinking it would be really good being I knew who John Clark was as far as Clancy goes, but even still it was so much better than I hoped it would be. Awesome story, great read. Flows very well. Top three Clancy books for sure.

I really enjoyed rainbow six and figured I'd pick this one up. Can be slow at the beginning and during some of the exposition chapters but the action was breath taking. I'm a bit of a gamer and seeing so much action in a book is amazing. Too bad there aren't any other books with John Clark in them! :(

Clancy seems to routinely outdo himself. Anybody who has read his Jack Ryan novels and who has wondered about the mysterious John Clark must read this story. This book proves Clancy is a master of continuing a storyline that is completely cohesive. It also is his finest example of character development. A must read for any techno-thriller fans, mystery fans, or fiction fans.

About the author

A little more than thirty years ago Tom Clancy was a Maryland insurance broker with a passion for naval history. Years before, he had been an English major at Baltimore’s Loyola College and had always dreamed of writing a novel. His first effort, The Hunt for Red October, sold briskly as a result of rave reviews, then catapulted onto the New York Times bestseller list after President Reagan pronounced it “the perfect yarn.” From that day forward, Clancy established himself as an undisputed master at blending exceptional realism and authenticity, intricate plotting, and razor-sharp suspense. He passed away in October 2013.
