I bought this book because I thought I was going to read a true story of a struggling teen. It's obvious pretty early on that this is not a real diary. I've seen it described as really bad "anti-drug propaganda" and I completely agree. I'm not sure any of the words in this are honest or very well informed. The writing is what you would expect if a 15 year old really did keep a diary. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who wants to read something real and raw. Disappointed.

This book is (can't find the right word... crap, horrible, unrealistic disturbing, a comedy (?)) It tries to recounts the story of a runaway teenager but full of hyperbolic "facts" that happened to her on her runaway journey. Not to mention the crappy final chapter. The first time it came out the author told it was based on a real life of a real teenager, but of course not! (she later admitted it and that it was made as part of an anti-drug campaign or something like that). It made angry and it was everything was so false I laugh at certain parts I really like YA books, but this one in particular definitely not the one I 'll recommend.... You want a "drug book" read Trainspotting

Okay, first off what teenager in the history of history ever talked like this "I shall" "nary" seriously?? Sounds like a parody of Shakespeare. Not only that, the book really isn't written by an anon which is comical and it's barely relatable. I'm 20 years old and I find it to be utter bullshit. Out of all drugs to try she does LSD first.everyone knows marijuana is a gateway drug or is said to be that. Sounds so unrealistic and forced. And the ending...lol wtf. Would not recommend this garbage.
