Children´s Atlas of Europe is an atlas that we created at the end of 2010 for one of our children when he was five years old. In a fun way, it tells readers what Europe is and the nicest characteristics of each country.

 

It does not attempt to be a summary of all of the European countries, rather it points out the main countries and their main monuments and characteristics. In a simple and fun way, we are introducing our youngest readers to the world of geography.

 

Recommended age: 7 and up.

The books says " the typical Russian drink is vodka". seriously? can you be anymore stereotipical.....? do children really need to know about vodka in the first Atlas? typical drink in Russia is Russian tea not vodka. but there so many other interesting facts about Russia a child can learn, for example that Russia is the biggest country in the word, the Volga is the longest river, Moscow is the biggest citties, that a Russian man went to space first, about architecture, nature etc of russia. but no the ignorant russophob who wrote this book thought that 1 fact that children should learn about Russia is VodkA. terrible.

This book is like a job half done. Not all countries are there. The reading format is very small across the screen. Not worth it if you looking to use it for educational purposes.

Nicely laid out, free and good for what it covers. But would need to be longer, more informative, and especially have more maps and info on individual countries for me to give a higher rating.
