What does a man do to appease the woman he loves? Embroil her in a scandal. I received an ARC of As Rich As A Rogue by Jade Lee in exchange for an honest review. For six years Mari has fumed over the hurtful worlds delivered by Peter. Now faced to face with her nemesis she wants retribution. Not an easy feat when Peter can't remember what was said. What ensues is petty squabbling, unwanted attraction and mutual frustration. Once the childish banter wore off, I found the romance to be enjoyable.

I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for my honest review. After six years in India, Peter Norwood, Lord Whitly, has returned to England, much to Mari Powel's dismay. At a party before his departure, a casual comment made to a friend was overheard and repeated throughout the ton, and Mari was branded "the Wayward Welsh." Mari has spent six long years perfecting her painfully correct behavior in an attempt to rehabilitate her image and snare a husband, and on Peter's first day back, she is publicly embroiled in a silly bet that threatens to undo her hard work. Why would Peter seek Mari out on his first day back? What if Mari has misjudged the situation and Peter isn't responsible for the ton's judgment of her after all? What will Mari discover if she looks at Peter through different eyes? What will she learn about herself? Mari and Peter's unconventional romance made for an entertaining read. The dialogue was fun and peppered with playful and witty banter. Peter's motivations were cleverly masked, and I was kept guessing about his story until the end. Mari's struggle with herself between reigning in her fiery nature to meet society's expectations and remaining true to herself and thus revealing her very beauty is poignantly drawn. Overall, this was a fresh, smart and clever read.
