About the author

Emre Baransel is a graduate of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, holds two Master's degrees in Information Systems and Business Administration and has worked in IT for 10 years. He has worked for the largest fixed-line and gsm telco companies in Turkey. He was nominated as an Oracle ACE in 2012. He's an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), a founding member of TROUG (Turkish Oracle User Group), and blogger at emrebaransel.blogspot.com. He has spoken at Oracle Open World in US and user group conferences across of Europe and contributed to Oracle RMAN 11g Backup and Recovery book in 2010. He focuses in particular on database high availability and disaster recovery solutions, cloud technologies, and database security. Nassyam Basha is a database administrator who has around 7 years of IT experience of which the last 5 years have been spent as an Oracle Production DBA. He has a post graduate Master's degree in Computer Applications from the University of Madras. He started working with dBase and FoxPro and participated into several projects with FoxPro and Oracle database starting from Oracle 7. He is an Oracle 11g Certified Professional with a good knowledge of Oracle technologies such as Data Guard, RMAN, RAC, and performance tuning.
