An oldie but goodie. Great story! But I'm a sucker for anything shifter, however the author defines it. This writer is pretty traditional -- fated mate, possessive, strongly paternal, "I'm never wrong" alpha. (I can live with the cons because of the appeal of the pros.) The plot is also pretty stereotypical-- poor, strong, independent woman is fated mate of said paranormal but insists on seeing it through human eyes. (duh!) Shifter runs roughshod over her and her choices but is aware and really tries to restrain himself. But he's an alpha so the reader is expected to not only forgive the arrogance but love him anyway. Conception occurs; it all works out. This book offers a delicious couple of hours of escape and I highly recommend it. It is purely predictable but lots of fun anyway.
