If you follow my book reviews then you know that I really like Rachelle Ayala's books. I also read A Father for Christmas, which is the first book in this series. I absolutely recommend reading it first. Even though this is a different story from the first, you meet all the characters in A Father for Christmas. So I highly recommend you read it before reading A Pet for Christmas. This is a highly emotional story and it had me crying and hopeful. I won't say much because I don't want to spoil this must read book. So go ahead and get both of these fabulous books. I did receive this product discounted or free of charge in exchange for a review, however all opinions are 100% honest based on my own experience.

**This is a review for the audiobook version** A Father for Christmas: A Veterans Christmas, Book 1 by Rachelle Ayala , narrated by Elizabeth Klett is a clean romance that brings awareness to PTSD. It is about single mom, Kelly, who has a 4yr old daughter named Bree. Bree longs for a father, and even asks Santa to bring her "a papa" for Christmas. The only problem is that a father wasn't part of Kelly's big plan, especially since she also has a criminal past she wants to keep secret. In steps hunky Tyler Manning, hometown football hero turned homeless war veteran. Admirable as it may seem, Tyler isn't the same man he used to be. The events of the war have greatly affected him, and as a result, he suffers from PTSD. He also feels he doesn't deserve happiness after being part of so many unhappy war moments. But, doesn't everyone deserve to be happy during Christmastime? As the worlds of Kelly, Tyler, and Bree collide, you will begin to see the spirit of Christmas working its magic. A Father for Christmas is a story about love, truth, forgiveness, acceptance, and the power of family. Told during Christmastime, you will understand why many call it the most wonderful time of the year. It is not nececessy to wait until snow is falling to read this well-written story. In fact, today is June 22, 2017. Christmas is 6 months away, and I enjoyed this story every bit as much as I would, had it been December. Because Rachelle Ayala's books focus on family and relationships, you are able to enjoy her writing whenever you want. I really enjoyed the narration by Elizabeth Klett! She did a great job wirh the voices, even little Bree! She has a sweet sounding tone, which makes for an easy listening experience. Her pronunciation of words is right on and her pace is perfect. She is fun to listen to and easy to understand. I'm looking forward to hearing more of her her in the future! I rate this book 5/5 stars. I think its best feature is the awareness brought to PTSD in war veterans. Many people, including myself, are not well informed about how war affects some individuals, nor do they know how to handle situations that arise because of it. Rachelle Ayala's beautiful story is a great start if you would like to start learning. It also teaches another valuable lesson...do not judge a book by its cover. Before you make assumptions about others, take the time to learn about their situations. Chances are there's a reason their lives are different than your own. Never know, you might make a new friend or find a new love along the way! ❤
