About this ebook

The shocking, gripping, and at times darkly hilarious bestselling memoir of Nikki Sixx’s yearlong war with a vicious heroin addiction, featuring exclusive new content.

When Mötley Crüe was at the height of its fame, there wasn’t any drug Nikki Sixx wouldn’t do. He spent days—sometimes alone, sometimes with other addicts, friends, and lovers—in a coke- and heroin-fueled daze.

The highs were high, and Nikki's journal entries reveal some euphoria and joy. But the lows were lower, often ending with Nikki in his closet, surrounded by drug paraphernalia and wrapped in paranoid delusions.

Here, Nikki shares the diary entries—some poetic, some scatterbrained, some bizarre—of those dark times. Joining him are Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Slash, Rick Nielsen, Bob Rock, and a host of ex-managers, ex-lovers, and more.

Brutally honest, utterly riveting, and surprisingly moving, The Heroin Diaries follows Nikki during the year he plunged to rock bottom—and his courageous decision to pick himself up and start living again.

An absolutely outstanding read, that I happened upon quite by chance thanks to a customer of mine at the time. This book truly helped me make the decision to save my life, and is a brutally honest, eye opening read into what happens when volitive youth meets unbridled wealth and access; and what's left behind. This is definitely NOT just a fan read, and I'm in fact no fan (before my time, really... though, I love Kickstart My Heart). When described to friends, as really a tabulated diary, they don't understand just how naturally, and easily & interesting this book reads. A stellar read! Absolutely recommended to anyone who's a fan of music, in recovery or considering, looking for a perspective on the crazy 80's, or an honest look into youth, wealth, fame & pressure.

Deeply personal. Written during his darkest hours with a shattered mental state. Extremely arrogant and selfish, Nikki Sixx was the poster child for Rock 'n Roll excess. He had nothing and everything to live for. An honest and terrifying glimpse into a diseased mind.

Brutally honest and deeply personal, it's truly the good, bad and the very ugly. It's shocking how unglamorous everyday life was for him. Nikki really has a way with words, funny at times, so tragically sad at others. An intriguing inside look at not only his life, but the band and the business in general.
