Ratings and reviews

This book is populated by the dullest witted characters ever to stumble about in space. Over and over they get themselves into unbelievable situations with absolutely no foresight or regard for consequence. It is miraculous that they are capable of flush toilets, never mind interstellar flight. The authors repeat themselves ad nauseam in what appears to be an effort to achieve a word count, or even worse, believing their readers are idiots and have forgotten what was written just a few pages earlier. To be fair, editing was good to excellent with very few spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. Abysmal.

The characters were a tad predictable at this point but still enjoyed the whole thing. It had me turning pages well into the night. Now for book 3. Glad I didn't find the series until all of the books were out, I could never stand to wait for the end of great series.

Love both Hellhole books. They are noth great reads. I have a hatd time putting them down. Waiting for the next, wish we had an idea of when to expect it.

About the author

Brian Herbert, son of Frank Herbert, wrote the definitive biography of his father, Dreamer of Dune, which was a Hugo Award finalist. Brian is president of the company managing the legacy of Frank Herbert and is an executive producer of the motion picture Dune, as well as of the TV series Dune: The Sisterhood. He is the author or coauthor of more than forty-five books, including multiple New York Times bestsellers, has been nominated for the Nebula Award, and is always working on several projects at once. He and his wife, Jan, have traveled to all seven continents, and in 2019, they took a trip to Budapest to observe the filming of Dune.
