Robert Atkins has been slated over many years for his low carb diet by people who in most cases never looked past the phase 1 section of his book. Now, suddenly, low carb diets which include a balanced of natural fats and healthy carbs are in fashion with so many people profiting from 'inventing' them. Event scientists are seeing the benefits of seriously reducing the amount of refined carbs we eat though few are willing to admit that Atkins' research along with others was right all along. People reading this book should read it a couple of times to understand it properly. It's intelligent, backed up by very well explained research and thoroughly interesting to boot. I hope Atkins is having a good chuckle as his accusers... he deserves to have the last laugh 😂

Robert C. Atkins is the founder and medical director of the Atkins Centre for Complementary Medicine in New York City. A graduate of Cornell University, he went on to specialise as a cardiologist.
