Ratings and reviews

The whole book was gross. Her age made it weird. His lying was manipulative to a young person. The writing was sloppy and choppy. The ending was rushed and didn't make any sense. It's a lot of guess work to figure out what is happening and who's talking some times. Backstories that don't mean anything and dots that never connect. It had a lot of great potential, but definitely not very sensitive to trauma victims. I had high hopes because of the reviews I saw and the given description. But this was a lot to get through.

I found the first part of the story monotonous but then it picked up and I couldn't wait to turn the pages. However, the ending left me totally flumoxed and very confused. I have no idea what on earth the ending meant - extremely frustrating and disappointing.

First of all, the review date is incorrect. It is 3 August 2020.What a total lot of nonsense! There were so many holes in this plot. I have never read such a badly written book before! It doesn't make any sense. The author had clearly not done any research on trauma victims before! A girl that went through so much trauma would take months if not years before they would want to get near a man, never mind be in any kind of relationship. When the "hero" of the story had sexual thoughts about a rape victim so early on in the book I should have stopped reading immediately. The sexual thoughts and feelings he had throughout the book were sickening.The general theme would have made for a great story, however, this was a thriller that turned into a romantic novel gone horribly wrong. The villians were caught and dealt with way too easily as well which makes it very unbelievable.The chapters with the short words and phrases were terrible. It was supposed to portray the events of the girl's trauma as well as her feelings which it definitely didn't. Everyone in the story got the full details, except for the reader!!
