I loved this book because it was cleverly written and held an engaging plot. I always liked sci-fi novels with pragmatic scientific theory infused into the story. Binary System had the right balance of astrophysics and compelling story. I also liked the way the sentient alien species were depicted. Another great part of the story was the dynamics between the human protagonist and her AI companion. Very smart ideas throughout! I highly recommend this book for its fast paced action.

The writing style harks back to the Heinlein and Asimov classics. A good action packed story that leaves you wanting more.

About the author

Eric Brown began writing when he was fifteen and sold his first short story to Interzone in 1986. He has won the British Science Fiction Award twice for his short stories, and his novel Helix Wars was shortlisted for the 2012 Philip K. Dick award. He has published over fifty books, and his latest include the crime novel Murder at the Loch, and the SF novel Jani and the Great Pursuit. He has also written a dozen books for children and over a hundred and thirty short stories.
