I loved Megan and Luke’s story in Mine Until Moonrise by Jennifer Bernard, the first book in her Lost Harbor, Alaska series. Megan escaped with her genius-level daughter after a horrible incident, leaving the big city for an Alaskan homestead and a tour boat, The Forget-Me-Not. Since her arrival she has butted heads with the hottie captain, Lucas Holt, operating his late father’s charter company. She runs nature tours; he’s all about big-money charters. He’s also arrogant, annoying, and oh yeah, wildly attractive. Lucas came back home only to settle his father’s affairs before returning to Colorado; yet he’s not ready to flee the town where he grew up. He’s enjoying spending time with Lost Harbor’s newest resident, Megan and her daughter Riley. Butting heads and arguing with Megan is the best foreplay he’s had in years. When a dangerous storm roils not just the seas, their feud turns into a passionate affair; one that could affect all that’s important to Megan. Ms. Bernard wrote an amazing, visual, sexy and magical escape that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Megan and Luke a chance at forever love. I highly recommend Mine Until Moonrise to other readers and am totally looking forward to the next story in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

ARC for honest review with no compensation Mine Until Moonrise is book 1 in the new series Lost Harbor, Alaska by Jennifer Bernard and what a great start! Megan Miller, scientist, mother of a child prodigy comes to Lost Harbor to start a new life for herself and her daughter following a horrific trauma at her former job. Now she owns a natures tour business and is feuding with big charter captain Lucas Holt... Lucas Holt returns home to Lost Harbor after the death of his father, hoping to settle his father’s affairs, sell the “Jack Hammer” and return back to the lower to his business Colorado, except he thinks something is fishy about his father’s death. He is trying to find out more information to the detriment of the local detective and feuding with the nature tours new owner and resident Megan Miller among other things... that is until the storm changes the course of their relationship... Can these to find a way to coexist with business, keep tempers under control and not let the sparks ignite or will the legend of “Lost Souls” be what opens their hearts to the wonders of love!!

Ever since I learned that Jennifer Bernard lives in Alaska, I was hoping she would set a series there. All of her books weave the location into the story in a way that almost makes it feel like a character in itself. Megan moved to Alaska with her too smart for her age daughter, looking for a change and to escape a painful past, but she wasn't prepared for what was in store for her in Lost Harbor. Lucas Holt returned home to deal with some family issues and wasn't expecting to find a new nemesis in Megan Miller. I loved the friendly banter and teasing between the two which just amped up the sexual tension. Add in a cast of local characters, an adorable otter and the unique environment of Lost Harbor, Mine Until Moonrise is a story you can't put down. I can't wait to learn more about this community and it's inhabitants in the rest of the series.
