About this ebook

Cassi is the head buyer for a prestigious art gallery in California. Jared is a buyer for an exclusive New York gallery. Sparks fly as the two come head to head in a bidding war for a hideous but very expensive Indian Buddha.

Cassi and Jared are both determined to win the statue, but others also want the Buddha—at any cost. Thugs, art forgers, the FBI, or Jared’s beautiful and alluring boss . . . who will end up with the statue? During a string of hair-raising exploits, Cassi and Jared are forced to develop a tentative friendship that deepens into romance. Will they survive long enough to see it through?

Best-selling author Rachel Ann Nunes has crafted a wonderfully intriguing and romantic drama in this fast-moving novel, bringing two idealistic people together from opposite edges of the continent and allowing them, in their own way, to find an unexpected connection to their Christian faith and each other. In the end, their very lives depend on the trust they’ve developed.

If you love romance and excitement, you’ll be captivated by A Bid for Love.

Jared Landine and Cassie Mason work for rival art galleries and are competing for a certain statue up for auction. Mysterious warning notes appear beneath doors, and threatening strangers lurk on corners, causing Jared and Cassi to become reluctant partners through strange circumstances.

I liked that it had mystery, danger, and a storyline, but I wasn't thrilled about the heavy religion or the 19 kids and counting theme. I get that the main characters were big on large families, but it's a bit much to have enough children for a full-court game plus a referee.

The story's well-made and beautifully written. With the combination of humour and wit, you can't take your eyes of it for even just a second! Especially the main characters; you can't help falling in love with them.

About the author

Rachel Ann Nunes learned to read when she was four, beginning a lifetime fascination with the written word. She avidly devoured books then and still reads everything she can lay hands on, from children's stories to science articles. She began writing in the seventh grade and is now the author of over forty published books, including the popular Autumn Rain series and the picture book Daughter of a King. Her novel Before I say Goodbye was a winner of the Whitney Award.

Rachel and her husband, TJ, are the parents of three boys and four girls. Rachel loves camping with her family, traveling and meeting new people, and, of course, writing. As a stay-at-home mother of seven, it isn't easy to find time to write, but she will trade washing dishes or weeding the garden for an hour at the computer any day! Her only rule about writing is to never eat chocolate at the computer. "Since I love chocolate and writing," she jokes, "my family might never see me again." Rachel writes Monday through Friday in a home office, often with a child on her lap. She takes frequent breaks from writing to build Lego towers, practice reading, or go swimming with the kids.
