Book 2 is not a stand alone book, but honestly this series is meant to be devoured and reread because it is just that good. I mean a seemingly powerless half human/vamp Lexi falls in love with Cole a half Fairy/Werewolf prince forced to face the trials to become king after his fathers brutal murder or have his home destroyed by the crazy Dragon king. He's left Lexi alone, and now he must leave her alone again. And did I mention although it's a smaller part, I love it, the castle is haunted or powerful or something super cool. The detail that went into every aspect of this book is spectacular you find something new to love at every turn. Book 3 promises even better secrets as the ending of this one is doozy. Brenda K. Davis has done an exceptional job painting a world and people for us that will touch us all differently. Happy reading.

The very first paragraph had me on the edge of my seat. After reading book, 1 I could not wait for book 2 to come out. As Cole walked up the stairs with his bloody footprints I was right there with him. As Brenda’s writing always does I was hooked and could not put it down. Cole, Brokk, Orin and Varo just lost their father and Cole had to watch it happen. RAGE! Yes this book kept me on the edge of my seat with Cole going through the trials and having to be away from Lexi. There is so much more that I want to say, but I don’t want to give spoilers. Cole and Lexi have a lot to over come that is for sure! I kinda wished Cole had of killed Malakai many times already! I am sure his time will come sooner or later and I hope Cole does it slowly. I also, can’t wait to see Orin’s story and meet Varo. An I really can not wait for book 3 to come out! Brenda’s books always leaves me wanting more and more! On a side note I think Lexi will be the ruler of the dragons or the one that can set them free!

This book continues to keep me on edge as Lexi and Cole deal with the upheavals in their lives. I love how Lexi is not some meek female or one who falls for mind games from a jealous woman! The twists and turns the story takes has me wondering how it will all come together and what scenario will prevail. I cannot get enough of these two and am anxiously awaiting the next installment. Move over Kobal! Cole is my new favorite book boyfriend written by Brenda K Davies!
