About the author

Beyond my studies of Haitian history at the high school level, I remained interested, read and researched profusely on historical figures and events. I am trained on the doctoral level for research and wrote a doctoral dissertation on Haitian children's cognitive and language development. I have a Philosophy degree in Developmental Child Psychology. I am a published writer of an autobiography (Evocations of My Past) and of autobiographical short stories (Remembering Kate) as well as political commentaries (Haiti: Why Pluralism is an Imperative). As a psychologist, a mother and a Haitian person, I believe our children should not grow-up in this world without knowing about the life of Haiti's founding fathers and historical figures. This is important for their self-esteem and their identity. I live in New York. My life goal is to become a respected author of books for children as well as adults.
