This fictional novel seems to be rich in culture and encompass an enthralling story as well. I have heard many great things about Ondaatje's literary works and find myself wanting to know more about Anil and the past that haunts her. Although I could only find a few reviews on this particular book, all that I have read seem to recommend it! It will definitely be on my "to read" list.
About the author
Michael Ondaatje is the author of three previous novels, a memoir and eleven books of poetry. His novel The English Patient won the Booker Prize. Born in Sri Lanka, he moved to Canada in 1962 and now lives in Toronto.
