ARC Review: Laguna Dreams (Laguna Beach) by Kaira Rouda Behind the beauty of the location, lies the drama of real life. Living the celebrity life does not a fairytale make. Laguna Dreams takes readers behind the spotlight and into reality with the drama, insecurities and heartache that drives the life of people who seem to have it all, but know something is missing. Amanda longs for a chance to live out her dreams without the suffocating shadow of her mother's hopes. Phillip thought he was living the dream. A successful career, a beautiful fiancee but sometimes dreams and people change. The girl of his dreams, has turned into a nightmare and the love of his life turns out to be a stranger he just met. With drama like this, who needs soap operas. Ms. Rouda continues to surprise, delight and write dramedies that are fresh, entertaining and unforgettable.

Loved, loved this story of Amanda and Phillip. An accidental meeting between the two, changes their lives forever. Not expecting to meet again, Phillip is engaged. to an evil person, bridezilla to say the least. Amanda needs a change in her life, so she takes a job at the winery. upon having a tasting she soon finds out Phillip is the son of the owners. The sparks are still there, and Amanda soon finds out their is a broken engagement. Will their dreams come true? With the backdrop of the gorgeous Laguna Beach and winery, it will make you want to move there. I highly recommend this book, it is a part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. My only recommendation is to e sipping on a glass of wine while reading this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Laguna Dreams by Kaira Rouda, the fifth book of her Laguna Beach series. Ms. Rouda truly knows how to create a sweet story between two people with one needing to figure out what they desire to do with their life, without her mother’s influence and the other learning to live life exclusive of following a self imposed schedule or plan. There’s all of this while these two find love along the way despite many obstacles, including a crazy ex. I love that a group of friends who are supportive of their friend were created, no matter how difficult things might be for that character. I think my favorite part of this book was Phillip chasing after Amanda when she went home the weekend he was supposed to get married. The fact that he dropped all of his responsibilities to do this and that he fit right in with her friends, showed how much he loved her. I was bother by the bizarre behavior his ex-fiancé and wondered why he waited so long to file a restraint order against her. This was a fun and entertaining story with loveable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written, authentic and complex. I highly recommend this book to all readers. I truly enjoyed this book and had trouble putting it down. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. Although this book is part of a series it is a standalone story. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
