If you have read Jennifer Neilsens other books you know what to expect. But this one will surprise you in ways you didn't even know were possible. With all the enthusiasm and charm that only a character of hers can possess. You will find yourself hopelessly lost in the fate of Nicolas Calva. One of the best book she's ever written. Well? What are you waiting for? Go lose yourself in a world that is all but what you would expect.

I love this book, I read the series this weekend, after the Ascendance trilogy. I love the way that the author writes, and the way she left cliffhangers such as "who knows, he still may have magic". I hope to see a sequel of this series in some way, I loved it. Spoilers ahead: I am kind of disappointed at how the author handled character deaths, killing Nic sort of, enough to sadden the reader, then bringing him back unexplained... It was similar to the Ascendance trilogy, although that series had more of a method to its madness. I for one, think it would have been better to leave Nic dead, and have the reader be mildly depressed for the remainder of the day and night. Overall, absolutely loved the book, loved the characters. 10/10 would read again

Definitely make a movie about this, I would love to see the marvel studios-like graphics and the Universal Studios out-of-this-world backgrounds, with only the best Hollywood to British actors. keep up the great work, Jen. Never lose your creativity, and I won't lose mine.
