About this ebook

He was born in an orphanage, was brought up in a remand home. He had no relations, no father, no mother, no caste, no religion, no culture, and no ancestry, nothing to claim him. He had no traditional markings to prove his being into existence. He was born with 'Name Not Known'. He had no name; he just had a number, just like the prisoners. His childhood was full of questions. His adolescence was spoiled, his youth was snubbed. When he grew into adulthood, his question also grew with him. These questions made him an adult. They shouldered his parenting. They taught him, they helped him to recover. Today, he is at such a stage where life unfolds beautifully in front of him. This is a story for those who have everything yet who do not stop complaining and are extremely incompetent.

About the author

DR. SUNILKUMAR LAWATE

Birth:11th April 1950.

M.A. (Hindi), Ph.D.

A person of few words, Dr. Lawate has seen the strong adversity of life since birth. His own efforts and willingness to rise above has made the life-journey possible for him. Raised as an orphan in Pandharpur, he had no one to rely upon except himself. His hard work has never let him down. With the little help of the government, he succeeded in being a good teacher.

The Marathi author, social activist and freedom fighter of Maharashtra, the National Teacher of India, late Sane Guruji was his idol. As a young budding teacher, Lawate had an opportunity to be in the company of prominent Marathi writer V.S. Khandekar which helped his creativity bloom better.

A critic, a translator, an editor, a poet and writer of many books (75 plus) in Marathi and Hindi, Dr. Lawate’s dedication and devotion has been his greatest assets. After retiring in 2010 as the college principal, he has extensively worked for the orphans. He has ably converted the ‘Remand Home’ at Kolhapur in ‘Child Welfare Program’. His vision and mission for orphans was strengthened after the tour of 15 countries all over Europe and Asia to study the various orphanages and remand homes there.

As far as Dr. Shuchita Nandapurkar-Phadke remembers, books have been her best friends. As she moved along the life-path, it was inevitable to turn towards literature as a passionate affair. Though poetry has been a leisure activity for her for many years, she soon turned towards translation. Within a decade her passion had become her profession. She ably handles many genres right from Sex to Spirituality. She has contributed in educational and child-literature as well. Being a counsellor allows her to understand the original content in a better way.

So fond was she of her profession that she wanted to excel in it, hence, she acquired her PhD in Management of Translation. No wonder, her translations, though honest to the source literature, are always beautiful and as good as any independent writing.

She wishes to contribute in the wondrous and joyous world of translation for years to come.
