About the author

DIANE J. COOK, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she leads the MavHome smart home project and directs the Artificial Intelligence Research Laboratory. A senior member of the IEEE and member of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence, she also sits on the Board of Governors for the IEEE’s Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society.

SAJAL K. DAS, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Founding Director of the Center for Research in Wireless Mobility and Networking (CReWMaN) at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is the coauthor of Mobile Wireless Computing: A Quantitative Approach.
