Kelly Thrash
As posted on The Smutty Kitty reviewed by KittyKelly 4.5 out of 5 Licks I love me some Sara Jane Stone! Her writing just pulls me in and grips tight. I love that she writes military inspired characters and she doesn’t just stick to men. She’s written several female characters who served in the military and are battling their own demons. In Stirring Attraction both the hero and the heroine are fighting to get back to some semblance of normal after their worlds are turned upside down. Each suffered their own tragedy while apart from each other. This one tugs at the heartstrings quite frequently. Dominic is having a hard time pulling himself back together after being severely injured while serving overseas. Lily was trying to move on after it seemed like Dominic was not going to be a part of his future, then she was brutally attached while on a jog. Watching them try to support each other and piece back some form of a friendship or relationship was tough. I found myself just wanting to yell at them to get over it and be happy together but obviously that wouldn’t have made for a very god book. lol Eventually of course they figure it out and realize that they need each other and can make it work. Another huge perk for me is getting to revisit old characters and get to know current characters even better. I am super excited about the next book. I was so sad when Josh didn’t get his own story in the Independence Falls series, but it seems so fitting that his story comes in the Second Shot series. I hope Sara never runs out of characters and keeps writing more and more.

Another heart stealing, tear causing, steamy read. When I finished this one I was compelled to tell the author just how I feel. I'm not able to express in words the way she is. Please believe me you will love this story. Dominic, hot high school football with only one love, Lily. He had a plan and a need to be a hero, an Army Ranger, and come back to her. Lilly is the best of the best. Kindergarten teacher, mother's caregiver and so much more. But they did have that love in common. She loved him and trusted him. Until a terrorist ripped his body and his life and plans apart—along with the use of his right hand. Until he sent her away. He stayed away from her as well, until a vicious man took her confidence and tore into her body. As much as she wanted him to make her feel safe, she wanted the love they had. But that didn't seem to be coming. She knew she wasn't safe, the man was out there and wanted her, It had not been random, but no one believed her. Did Dominic? This one was so touching, everyone wanted to help, but no one understood. Their love was singular and the road to finding a HEA a rough one. Their love is still hot and true, but life dealt them some horrendous blows. This is a page turner. A heart warmer. We get to visit other characters from previous stories always a good thing. And great news of a new forthcoming story of a character who has a real story to tell and a guy who just might be worthy of her. I was provided and ARC for an honest review.
