Honestly, an amazing book. No part of Abby's abuse is romanticised or even overdrawn. This is the kind.of book I've been wanting to write for years, just didn't know how. Kudos to the author (I remember her name, just not hot to spell it).

Two lonely people have a strong bond from their first meeting and to protect the woman he loves the Captain marries her. But what he never knew will haunt him.

... To find out what happened but found the content somewhat bland. I don't feel compelled to read the next in the series.
