I was introduced to this wonderful book some 12 years ago. I read Jogadhya Uma first and was immediately in love with the dreamy melancholy of a devotee. The simple ballad with a surprise in turn to me embodied all that bliss which one seeks undesired like the bangle seller. Others such as Savitri and Lakshman are jewels of Hinduism seen through easy and distant eyes.
