About the author

Tom Bonnett has had an extensive career in public policy, as a state legislator, a policy analyst, and an advisor to public officials and nonprofit organizations. Three of his books have attracted national attention among public sector leaders: TELEWARS in the States (1996); Is the New Global Economy Leaving State-Local Tax Structures Behind? (1998); and the award-winning Governance in the Digital Age (1999). Since becoming an independent consultant in 1997, his clients have included the Ford Foundation, the National Academy of Public Administration, the National Governors’ Association, the National Community Capital Association, the Council of State Governments, the National League of Cities, and the National Conference of State Legislatures. Tom Bonnett lives in Brooklyn, NY with a supportive wife and eleven-year son.
