About the author

Born in 1963 in Jiangsu province, and graduated from the English Department of Peking University in 1985, Xi Chuan has published four collections of poems, two books of essays, one book of critique and one book of selected works, in addition to a play and numerous translations, including works of Ezra Pound, Jorge Luis Borges and Czeslaw Milosz. His poetry and essays have been widely anthologized and translated. He won various prizes, honors and fellowships.
