An unusual book by Mrs. Livingston-Hill! The main character, or heroine being well out of youths bloom, and the co-heroine being her usual young girl who finds Christ or leads others to Christ. In this they both show or learn to show (depending on which one we are discussing) Christ's love to others. The unusual twist of the main character being "of an age" is really quite wonderful.

This was a story of evil vs good of misunderstandings and confusion. It was also a story about 2nd chances and how caring about others can change your life more effectively than if you selfishly concentrated on yourself only. I've given it 4 stars and not 5 because the story has an abrupt ending without a clear future for the star crossed lovers. Miss Grace Livingston Hill's clear christian witness was beautifully woven into the storyline from beginning to end.

So extremely inspirational & full of encouragement for those of us who've been "up against it" a lot in life, and have lost ability to hope & who struggle to trust God in the day to day. Also great advice on understanding boys, dealing with youth, with another generation, and about second chances in life.

About the author

GRACE LIVINGSTON HILL (1865–1947) is known as the pioneer of Christian romance. Grace wrote over one hundred faith-inspired books during her lifetime. When her first husband died, leaving her with two daughters to raise, writing became a way to make a living, but she always recognized storytelling as a way to share her faith in God. She has touched countless lives through the years and continues to touch lives today. Her books feature moving stories, delightful characters, and love in its purest form. Grace Livingston Hill began writing stories in 1877 at the tender age of twelve and didn’t stop until her death in 1947. But what may be more amazing is that she has sold over 84 million copies and is still loved by young and old alike.
