About this ebook

Romance on the Cards is the sweeter edition of Kris Pearson’s Seduction on the Cards. No swearing, less sex, but still plenty of flirting.

An outrageous minx and a buttoned-up Frenchman. When journalist Kerrigan Lush is assigned to interview a seriously rich anti-gambling crusader, she imagines a grandfatherly bore with a comb-over. But Alex Beaufort from Paris has plenty of hair – and enough of everything else to make her mouth water.

Irrepressible Kerri suggests a teasing game of strip poker, and they’re soon peeling off their layers of self-protection. Alex uncovers a free-spirited risk-taker with a gambling problem – the last woman he’d ever want in his life. And Kerri finds a driven man with a past so hellish he surely can’t heal her deeply buried unhappiness.

But opposites have been known to attract, and maybe romance really could be on the cards? Enjoy an international vacation in the South Pacific and see if this couple can build a satisfying future from ashes and hope.

Addictive! This book is a gem, it's funny, quirky and sexy (even with the sex scenes removed), a true opposites attract love story. It has a stuffy, uptight, billionaire Frenchman, who doesn't hesitate to judge people and inform them of his opinions and a 'live life in the minute', full of fun and fire journalist - two people who are as opposite as you can get. They find themselves thrust together in a shower of sparks and are left fighting instant attraction, anger, lust, frustration and bewilderment....again......and again........and again. They both fight this tooth and nail, hating the attraction to someone so wrong for them, someone they don't even like most of the time! Can Alex fight his addiction to Kerri? Can Kerri slow down and stop living for here and now, look towards tomorrow? Can they live without each other? More importantly can they live together without killing each other? A fun, fast paced, highly entertaining love story which was a pleasure to read.

About the author

New Zealander Kerri has been a spinner of stories since childhood. She worked first as a writer for radio, then in the wider advertising industry, and now devotes herself to romantic fiction. She enjoys sharing her beautiful country with the world, and creates stories full of real people in believable situations. Three of her many novels were finalists in New Zealand’s Clendon Award.

Perhaps you already know her as Kris Pearson (her real name.) If your reading preference is clean language and to keep the bedroom door further closed, these new sweeter editions might be just what you’d enjoy. They're the same basic stories – fun and flirty. You’ll still know what’s going on, but your imagination will have to supply the details. Does that sound fair?

The first five Wellington books have been re-written as the ‘Hearts around the Harbor’ series. If they sell well, then Kerri has a lot more work ahead of her. She’s a keen gardener, a Soroptimist, sometimes a painter, and co-ordinator of the local romance writers' meetings in her home city of Wellington, but she'll find time!
