Max Overton is a writer of historical novels with the award-winning Lion of Scythia trilogy as his first foray into writing. Born in Malaysia, he traveled extensively through Asia, Europe and North America before settling down in New Zealand. Later in life, he moved to Australia where he taught a variety of courses at James Cook University. From there, he moved to the United States for five years and then back to tropical Australia, where he continues to write in a rainforest setting with his wife Julie and three cats. Max is now in the final stages of a six-part historical series set in ancient Egypt (the Scarab books). He has also written paranormal adventure, paranormal historical and horror novels and he is starting to explore other genres.
