What a terrific book! I will not waste any space setting the scene: if the blurb intrigues you, grab BLOOD AND METAL ASAP! It’s a perfect blend of scifi, paranormal, and romantic suspense, and Ms. Croft makes it work beautifully! The author has crafted a very intricate world where a lot happens, but everything is concisely and clearly explained, and it all makes perfect sense. There are several characters, every one very well- defined, and all of them very interesting. Some concepts are terrifically innovative: I love Saffira, a time-mancer, and the different types of genetically modified beings are simply genius, witness what Daisy had been before. To say that BLOOD AND METAL is action-packed would be doing a major understatement: the action never stops! It’s very fast-paced, very well-written, and the romance between Daisy and Fergal is to say the least very interesting! Both are compelling characters: Daisy is easier to like right away, but Fergal grows on you. Not that I thought he was unsympathetic, but he was reserved, and understandably so. Ms. Croft also provides richly detailed backgrounds of both the characters and the political situation that is the basis of the story. Ms. Croft also adds to the mythology of old favourites, such as vampires and shifters. Some sex scenes do not turn out exactly as expected, and I very much appreciated that, because even though it is scifi, it made it much more realistic. I seldom find scifi believable, but BLOOD AND METAL rings true! Very well done, Ms. Croft! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Daisy is the Blood Hunter co-pilot but she also a newly turned vampire and her hunger is interfering with the crews plans for revenge but her old flame Fergal Cain just may be the sexy solution to the problem in this pulse-pounding sci-fi romance. Fergal’s running out of time to get the antidote to the poison running through his veins and the reader can’t help but caught up in the story as Daisy and Fergal dance around the truth. The chemistry between Daisy and Fergal a super-heated inferno of passion with some scorching sex scenes but the relationship is as unstable as a star that’s about to go supernova due to some trust issues, personal issues and of course everyone’s desire for revenge against the Church of Everlasting Life. These strong captivating characters demand your attention as they struggle with overwhelming odds and intense desires and the fast paced, smooth flowing plot keeps readers hopping with suspense, action, turmoil and romance. The story is full of exciting and tension filled events that keep readers on the edge as the church is causing mayhem as usual with its plans of eradication and then there is the deadly situation with Fergal as he runs out of time to find the antidote, Daisy’s increasing hunger as she struggles to control the darkness and of course the Blood Hunter crew’s plans to exact revenge on the fanatical leader of the church. Vivid imagery brings all the excitement to life and makes it easy for the reader to become immersed in the story as the action packed and intriguing events draw the readers in and refuse to let go. Once again, Nina Croft has outdone herself with this trilling romance as this series just keeps getting better and better. The suspenseful events kept me glued to the pages and unexpected twists kept me guessing what would happen next and I can’t wait for my next adventure with the Blood Hunter crew.
