This is the 5th book in The Donovans(Laurel Bay)series featuring the friends to lovers marriage of convenience small-town workplace romance between Patrick&Marissa. Marissa. Marissa has been working for Patrick for a few years and she never brings her personal life into the office she has always dealt with her dysfunctional family alone. Now when it's becoming dangerous she's forced to face the fact that she needs help so Marissa tells Patrick hoping that he can help her find an attorney. Patrick is shocked by what he hears and comes up with a different solution they'll get married it's not like he isn't attracted to her. I don't want to say anymore& ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this wonderful friends to lovers, marriage of convenience, small-town, workplace romance to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this wonderful book by Ms. Chase who is the Queen of contemporary romance. I voluntarily received a review copy of this book.

This is the second book I've read in this series by Samantha Chase. She is an excellent author writing small town romance that hits your heart. These characters in the Donovan family are so easy to like with fun family dynamics. They made me laugh with their group texts. Patrick and Marissa are boss/employee who developed a friendship after a tragic night where Marissa needed help. Patrick thought a fake marriage would help them both with their separate issues. This was a romantic, heart-pulling story that I couldn't put down. An excellent standalone but definitely interested in reading the whole series. We are introduced to their cousins and I can't wait to read about them!
