Rafferty’s story is a pulse pounding, gritty story that was well worth the wait. Rafferty has been longing for his firestorm for a very long time, but it seems that the great wyvern has something special in store for him and readers can’t help but be enthralled with his firestorm. Melissa is trouble with a capital T and her quest for knowledge is equally as fierce as the need to tell the world which adds a special kind of tension to the fires burning between Rafferty and her. The chemistry between them sizzles with an unmistakable electrical current and the romance is just as suspenseful as the plot which keeps readers glued to the pages with an intense need to know every last detail. The plot is fast paced and full of chaos as the Darkfire reigns supreme over the Pyr with lots of thrilling suspense, adrenaline pumping excitement and of course the evil machinations of the slayers but this story also has quite a few twists that really add to the delight of this story. These twists come in the form of emotional chaos as well as physical chaos, rule breaking and world ending threats that invokes strong emotions and a ‘hold your breath’ in expectation feelings which guarantee that readers remain glued to the pages of this exhilarating read.
