Ratings and reviews

I really enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to reading the sequel! I loved the characters and the setting, it was really easy to get swept up in the story. The editing could use a bit more work, especially since a character's name was swapped in the last chapter, but this is the author's first published novel so I'm assuming it gets better from here!

The vocabulary that Piper uses throughout the book lends to the vivid imagery of each scene. Truly throwing you into this world and left me eager for the next book(s). I've definitely pre-ordered the next one and I'll be buying the physical copy of this one as well. Now I just got to reread this again until book 2 is here!

piper is able to describe lots of beauties in this book. the writing makes you fall into this fantasy world and stay there! I love this book, I love Nox and Amaris, Ash and Malik, and I'm looking forward to the mysteries book one set up for book two. I loved holding the paperback book in my hands and I loved the art on the cover. definitely rereading.

Piper CJ, author of the bisexual fantasy series The Night and Its Moon, Villains, and No Other Gods, is a photographer, hobby linguist, and french fry enthusiast. She has an M.A. in folklore and a B.A. in broadcasting, which she used in her former life as a morning show weather girl, hockey podcaster, and in audio documentary work. Now when she isn't playing with her dogs, Arrow and Applesauce, she's making TikToks, studying fairy tales, or writing fantasy very, very quickly.
