Brianna John-Baptiste
I liked it. It was passionate, expressionist, drama-filled, encouraging, loving, and educational about some of the things that can/do happen to some people in real life. Very interesting and inspiring.

I remember reading this book when I was a freshman in high school in back in 2009 then 3 years later I became involved into an abusive relationship..all because I wanted "someone to love me" as well.. This book grabs your attention, especially for a young female that can relate.

I remember my first time reading this book. I was in seventh grade, in ISS (In School Suspension) and the teacher had us read a book. She gave us a choice of books and all the books looked interesting, but this book stood out to me. Even though I've never been in an abusive relationship, I witnessed one of my aunts go through this and I was scared for her, as if it were actually me going through something so traumatizing. One day while I was reading the book, I asked the teacher over ISS if I could borrow the book until I finished and she said I could. When I brought it home, I showed it to my aunt and we finished reading it together. After we were finished, it was like she hit her breaking point and finally had enough. I was happy for her and she was relieved. I guess this book helped her see how toxic her relationship was and how it could've gotten worse, had she not have broke away. I can honestly say, this book has opened my eyes and I love this book.
