At first I wasn't sure I would really like this book, but once the main character was in Chicago things were increasingly more interesting! I don't know if I have ever loved a character the way I do Aunt Birdie. If the author based her on a real person I would love to meet or have met her!

A book of its time when a young woman is coming of age in a world controlled by men. Good characters.

About the author
Lynn Austin, a former teacher who now writes and speaks full time, has won seven Christy Awards for her historical fiction. One of those novels, Hidden Places, has also been made into a Hallmark Channel movie. Lynn and her husband have raised three children and make their home near Chicago, Illinois.
