This book was OK. It started off well, kinda wavered in the middle and finished fast, probably too fast. While I really like the premise, there was just too much luck involved. The main character got out of too many life/death situations by mere luck, while his friends keep getting killed. Then, at the end, with all the dead people and the criminal investigations that would follow, everything just....goes away? If the sequel ends up as a free selection like this one did, I'll get it, but otherwise I don't think I'd make the investment. If looking for adventure books involving archaeology/anthropology, I'd suggest Thunderhead by Douglas Preston by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, or maybe Dance Hall of the Dead (Navajo Mysteries, #2) by Tony Hillerman by Tony Hillerman for a good mystery. For real life, try The Lost City of Z A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon by David Grann about Percy Fawcett. The eBook was formatted well with no obvious errors
