Having read another book by the author & not enjoying it, I was somewhat sceptical about giving this book a chance. I was amazed how much it held my attention. Each set of characters drew me into their story. I read it quickly - the mystery needed solving! Would definitely consider reading another book by Geraldine Brooks. Would I reread People of the Book? No.

Could scarce stop for coffee, a great story woven from clues extracted from an ancient book, its travels, treatment & history...so well researched as are all GB's writings

About the author
Geraldine Brooks is the author of three novels, the Pulitzer Prize-winning March and the international bestsellers People of the Book and Year of Wonders. She has also written the acclaimed non fiction works Nine Parts of Desire and Foreign Correspondence. Born and raised in Australia, she lives on Martha’s Vineyard with her husband, Tony Horwitz, and their two sons.
