This story covers a day in the life of a young rabbit who refuses to listen or obey his mother's admonitions that he stay away from a human owned property. When Peter does as he wants instead of what he should do, he comes very near to begin captured and made into a rabbit stew by the humans. His escape and return home is a gently exciting story which is appropriate for children from ages 0 to 5. Nicely illustrated with bright colours.

This is a book which my Mother read to me and my siblings as children. She made the characters come alive through use of gestures and different voice projections. I remember being so afraid for what could happen to Peter Rabbit as he frantically tried to make his way back home. Today, I read the book and took another trip back down memory lane.
