About this ebook

“Sophia Henry tackles real issues that tug at your heartstrings,” raves bestselling author Rachel Harris. Now, in this sweet, sensual Pilots Hockey novel, a young single mom falls for a damaged coach pulling double duty as a cop.

Linden Meadows doesn’t back down from anyone, especially if her family’s involved. So when her little brother’s new hockey coach benches him in the middle of a game, Linden lets him have it. She also notices that the coach is way hotter than she expects, but Linden won’t let herself get burned by another athlete. Been there, done that—and had a kid at seventeen to show for it.

When Jason Taylor isn’t taking abuse from hockey moms, he’s patrolling the streets as a member of the Bridgeland PD. After Jason pulls Linden over for speeding, he begins to see that there’s more to her than a big mouth . . . or a lead foot. Their chemistry leads to good company, intense conversation, and an intimacy that pushes beyond the boundaries of friendship. And yet Linden’s decision to keep her now three-year-old son, Holden, is a painful reminder to Jason that his own mother gave him up for adoption.

Linden’s sure she’s found the man to round out their family. But when Holden’s deadbeat dad forces his way back into the picture, Jason starts to back off. He needs time—to heal, to grow, and to love with all his heart.

4 1/2 of 5 Stars Sophia Henry scores a hat trick with the third book in the Pilots Hockey Series, Interference. Linden (Indie) Meadows, finds her little brother’s new hockey coach, Jason Taylor, not only irritating but attractive. The two have some heated confrontations. Then Jason gains respect for Linden for raising her three-year-old son on her own, unlike his mother who gave him up for adoption. This contemporary sports romance takes place in Bridgeland, Michigan and Detroit. It is suitable for new adult/adult audiences. Sophia Henry does a great job with both her plot and character development. The characters’ deal with many emotional issues and grow throughout the novel. I love how the story shows two different viewpoints of a similar situation: Linden keeping and raising her son as a single mom, and Jason, who was given up for adoption, it made some interesting dynamics and situations. I like how the characters are interrelated. Jason is the biological brother of Auden Berezin from book one, Delayed Penalty. He is also the adopted brother of Landon Taylor from book two, Power Play. Plus, there are a whole bunch of other character connections that make the story interesting. I love the banter of the Tayler family. They are a wonderful family that I would want to be friends with in real life. I appreciated that Auden and Landon were in this story. I love Indie’s son Holden. He is a cutie. His dad, Tim, is a jerk. There were a number of interesting twists in the story. The plot was heartfelt and believable. I enjoy Sophia Henry’s writing style and look forward to her next book. This is the third book in the pilot hockey series, Indie is a single young mother and Jason is a police office from Detroit. This a good story about a young mother trying to learn to trust again after being hurt by the guy who got her pregnant and the town who left her. With the help of her family and her will to move on an give a good life to her son. Jason is trying to get experience in a small town so he can move back to Detroit and also coaches the kcal hockey team. Watching him get false to indie and her son and there relation grow and the obstacles are true. Sophia Henry wrote another admirable read.

While this says it is a book this is a “Pilots Hockey novel”, it really isn’t. There is very little associated with hockey, nor is it about the Pilots Hockey team. It’s about the brother, one of the previous Pilots Hockey team members, Landon. But that does not matter. Jason, Landon’s brother, is a local police officer and hockey coach. After cursing at a player he took out of a game, he is chastised by what he believes is a parent of the player. What he doesn’t realize is this was no parent but the player’s beautiful sister, Linden (Indie). Indie loves her family does not tolerate someone cursing out her brother. After a few more encounters, Indie agrees to go on a date with Jason. Indie and Jason are good together. I loved their banter back and forth. The characters are realistic; their dialogue is not stilted like you get in other books. It was fun and easy. I really enjoyed this book. I actually thought it was better than the other two. I look forward to seeing what is next in this series and for this author.

About the author

Sophia Henry, a proud Detroit native, fell in love with reading, writing, and hockey all before she became a teenager. She did not, however, fall in love with snow. So after graduating with an English degree from Central Michigan University, she moved to North Carolina, where she spends her time writing books featuring hockey-playing heroes, chasing her two high-energy sons, watching her beloved Detroit Red Wings, and rocking out at concerts with her husband.
