As an experienced genealogist and also a descendant of this family, I want to warn visitors that there are many errors, sometimes conflicting dates, on the same page. My impression is that Welles contracted to put this elaborate family history together facing a deadline: a major family reunion, and he raced to complete the project. He certainly needed better proof readers. In many major genealogical libraries the original printings are worn out and the copy relegated to microfilm or fiche. However, when available, the copies reveal pen insertions by interested concerned parties to correct many of the dates. These people are not vandals, but those who wanted the record acccurate! An intelligent project for those dedicated to this art, would be to visit the major libraries and pick up the many marginal notations, some of which were done in the 19th century. The original has recently been republished, but without any corrections, to my knowledge. Possibly someone could incorporate the corrections into a further edition. The English connection was disproved by Asselia Lichliter in her "700 Years of the Beville Family, etc"
William Beville born 1605 died in 1637 England in London. leaving a Will which was probated.
His mother Maria Coles died in 1612 in England. Catherine Good did not marry Robert but was mother of Elizabeth Hampson wife of Robert Bevill. Elizabeth married Robert as her third husband in 1617 and was mother of none of the children Beville. She died in 1647 in England.
