About this ebook

(Corrected File)

Lily Mason and her adorable pittie Smooshie both have a nose for murder, but this is one cougar-shifter who would give her left paw to never find another dead body. All she wants is to enjoy a simple life in her new town, her fixer-upper house, while working a job she loves. Besides, the mystery of whether Parker Knowles, her boss at the rescue shelter, will or won't finally ask her out gives Lily plenty to keep her guessing.

But when an abandoned pit bull puppy leads Lily and Smooshie to the corpse of a local Lothario, she is once again drawn into the seedier side of small town living. Even though she's warned off the case by the local sheriff, Lily is determined to find the killer. It doesn't help matters that more nasty notes are showing up around town, making Lily wonder if the two things are connected.

Lily and Smooshie need to crack the case of the dead Don Juan, while navigating what it means to live in an all human town, before the secrets of the people she cares for are exposed.

The Barkside of the Moon Mysteries from USA Today bestselling paranormal cozy mystery author Renee George, are exciting tales of mystery and suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat. Clean reads full of humor, small town charm, and plots that will keep you guessing who the killer is until the very end.

Once again Renee George has a laughing, cheering and turning page after page to see what will happen next! Lily just wanted to settle down quietly in the town where she can be close to her uncle, her last living relative and hope that Parker, her boss who suffers from PTSD at the Pit rescue center asks her out. It is hard for her to try and control her werecat tendencies, but her uncle says to fit into a human town, she must. Unfortunately, trouble seems to find Lily when she least expects it. An emaciated pit puppy is rescued from the two elder sisters and they bring them to the rescue center. Parker begins to rage and wants to go after the person who neglected the dog so he has his friend, the vet check the dog's identification and find it is the self-centered local Lothario, Donnie Doyle, who owns the pup. Totally outraged, Parker and Lily want him punished. After they get the pup checked out they will let Nadine, Lily's officer best friend and her uncle's girlfriend know about the crime. On Lily's drive home she takes a slight detour to Donnie's house not looking to do anything but watch the house. When Smooshie starts acting antsy, Lily opens the car door and he bolts out toward the front door of the Doyle house. With her Pit Smooshie by her side, she sees the door slightly open and calling Donnie's name. When he doesn't answer she walks in and finds Doyle dead. Here it goes again. With the police chief having a grudge against Lily, she has to break down and call 911 from Doyle's house since her phone broke. And so starts a roller coaster with Lily in the middle and possibly her other Best friend, Reggie could be implicated. She must look into what happened but does that also make Lily a target? Smooshie becomes a hero and saves Lily, but why...what happened? And then add to all the craziness and murder, Lily is studying to take her GED and only one person knows that is what she is doing. You just can't put this book down once you start it and I can't wait for the next installment of Lily and Smooshie! I received an ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Much to her surprise, Parker actually asked Lily if she wanted to ride with him to pick up a malnourished puppy that two elderly ladies had found. He had been avoiding her the past couple of months, ever since she revealed her shifter side to him. So she agreed and they drove over to rescue the puppy. Parker was furious at the pup’s condition, very underweight and with scratches all over. The vet might be able to identify the neglectful owner since the tags indicated Ryan was the vet of record. As they approached town, Parker asked Lily if she would like to join him for his spaghetti dinner – this was progress! Arguing with herself on the drive home from work, Lily turned down Donnie Doyle’s road – just to observe, nothing more. She wanted to see where the malnourished pup had come from. She knew Nadine would be investigating for them. Besides, it was her cat nature to be curious about things. And she promised Smooshie she would not stop, until she did. But she would not get out of the truck, until she did. As they walked toward the door, she smelled a dead body! Not only that, but the screen door latch was broken and the front door was ajar. Oh no, not again . . . and she walked inside! I just love this series! The story line quickly captures the reader’s interest and provides a well-paced murder mystery to be solved. Share this new adventure with Lily and Smooshie as they find another murder victim close to home! Find out if Parker is ready yet to accept Lily’s shifter nature and open up for a real relationship!

Hidden Video Lily and Smooshie keep me entertained with their antics once again. These two bring laughter, love, crazy friends, and let's not forget dead bounds are usually found by them on what seems like a regular basis. When I read a Barkside of the Moon book I usually end up smiling and laughing a lot. People then ask what I am reading and I tell them you really have to read the book to get the best enjoyment of the story.

About the author

USA Today Bestselling author Renee George writes paranormal mysteries and romances because she loves all things whodunit, Otherworldly, and weird. Also, she wishes her pittie, the adorable Kona Princess Warrior, and her beagle, Josie the Incontinent Princess, could talk. Or at least be more like Scooby-Doo and help her unmask villains at the haunted house up the street.

When she's not writing about mystery-solving werecougars or the adventures of a hapless psychic living among shapeshifters, she is preyed upon by stray kittens who end up living in her house because she can't say no to those sweet, furry faces. (Someone stop telling them where she lives!)

She resides in Mid-Missouri with her family and spends her non-writing time doing really cool stuff...like watching TV and cleaning up dog poop.
