MY THOUGHTS~ This was my first book by author Casey Peeler. I really liked the story as a whole. My rating was mostly influenced by the dialogue throughout the book. It just seemed all wrong to me. It didn't feel natural or even realistic for things that were being said by characters the ages of the people in the book. That fact alone had me putting it in my "DNF" pile within the first 20(ish) percent. Then, I kept thinking about it and ended up picking it back up and finishing it. The story itself was beautiful and sweet. If my rating were based on that alone, it would have been a solid 5, but I had to consider that dialogue that bugged me to no end. Overall, it was a very heartwarming read.

If you’re looking for just another teen romance story, Southern Perfection is certainly not it. It’s small-town life and high school love, recovering from loss and relying on family. It’s teens who are still growing their way through life’s issues and managing to hold onto one another in the process. There’s an innocence in them that you usually don’t find anymore in this genre, making it a great read for both teens and those of us who remember what it was like once upon a time. ***FicCentral received this book from The Hype PR (via NetGalley) for free in exchange for an honest review.

This book is absolutely amazing could not put it down. I cried so much it reminded me of my own grandfather! This woman knows how to write.

 Casey Peeler grew up and still lives in North Carolina with her husband and daughter. Her first passion is teaching students with special needs. Over the years, she found her way to relax was in a good book.

After reading Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston her senior year of high school and multiple Nicholas Sparks' novels, she found a hidden love and appreciation for reading.

Her perfect day consists of water, sand between her toes, a cold beverage, and a great book!
