About this ebook

"Grace Burrowes is terrific." —Julia Quinn, NYT bestselling author of the Bridgerton series

From brooding scoundrel lords to gentleman physicians, quick-witted debutants to sweet governesses, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Grace Burrowes brings to life the glittering world of the Regency in her gorgeous historical romances.

He's had everything he could ever want...until now.

Wealthy wool magnate Tremaine St. Michael is half French, half Scottish, and all business. He prowls the world in search of more profits, rarely settling in one place for long. When he meets practical, reserved Lady Nita Haddonfield, he sees an opportunity to mix business with pleasure by making the lady his own.

Nita Haddonfield has a meaningful life tending to others, though nobody is dedicated to caring for Nita. She insists the limitations of marriage aren't for her...until Tremaine St. Michael arrives—protective, passionate, and determined to win Nita's heart no matter the cost.

Take a dash of Lisa Kleypas's Derek Craven and a hint of Jane Austen's Mr. Darcy...blend together with Grace Burrowes's signature simmering sensuality...and enjoy the read of a lifetime.

Once again Burrowes combines steamy romance with historical living in a uniquely captivating manner. She weaves real romance throughout the lives of her characters, making them oh so real. The world that she builds takes readers back in time in a one of a kind tale that had me gasping & laughing in turns. I love the strength of character that these two individuals possess takes the entire novel to a whole new level. Their battle of wills was fantastic. The way that they refused to see the truth that was directly in front of them lead to some comical moments. The combination of true gentleman and headstrong alpha type made Tremaine a joy to get to know. It fit with Nita’s need to prove herself to all those around her. When they finally admitted their feelings, they became an even more fantastic couple. And Burrowes backs these two main characters up with a fantastic supporting cast. The way that we get to know them draws you completely into their world. Burrowes has created a one of a kind tale that kept me captivated throughout. I laughed and lived alongside her characters in this remarkable journey back in time. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I really like this author. but if I'm honest I did not like this book it was very long, and drawn out for some reason the best parts of the book to me were George and Elsie Nash parts. And the fact that Suzanna loved that Shakespearean play. Everything else didn't do anything for me. She's done better

I thought it was great! Funny, sad, and romantic all at the same time. I was reading this in spurts and was able to jump back in feeling like walking into a warm embrace.
