About this ebook

One of Charles Dickens' most beloved works, David Copperfield follows the life of the eponymous young man from his unfortunate childhood to his adulthood as a successful novelist. The adventures and hardships David experiences color his upbringing, from dealing with an abusive stepfather, to the cruel life of a child factory worker, to finding his place in the world, among the friends and family he discovers. Along the way, Dickens introduces us to a colorful and unforgettable cast of characters, who inhabit this stark Victorian landscape.

I read this over the past weekend /early week and instantly fell for it. What an amazing story with a wit to it which is highly clever. I see a lot of Copperfield in myself and in the life I've lived so far, and it was a revelation to me in how much I could relate as I read this. This has become one of the best books I've read, & definitely a new favorite which I don't see being so easily replaced. Read this, you'll be very happy while doing so. My only regret, was that the book came to an end.... ; )

Splendid. Dickens wrote in a different age but the human heart is still the same and the story resonates today. True they have no cars,no phones or computers but the heart flies in a sky that is timeless. If anything it may be that they loved and lived deeper than we do today. I passed over novels like this in school days but I love them now. A heart tugging good read by a great author. A long book but a short read.Bravo

Been quite a few years, but can't wait to get back into a hmm; probably one of my top five favorite novels. Love Charles Dickens' lively, readable style. Nothing heady or condescending here. Hemmingway - can't relate, Dostoyevsky - forget it! But Dickens, well, you laugh and cry and the 730 pages fly by.
