Didn't read the first book in the series but I really liked the story line in this one. The writing is superb and the characters are very well developed and likeable. Didn't realize that it is geared toward teens, but adults as well can really enjoy the book. Magic,mystery and conflict come together quite well.

Very high paced, easy read. Lacking a little depth but all is well on the surface.
